SiC powders with two different sizes, that is, micrometric SiC (μSiC, ~15 μ m, Zamin Tavana Co., Mashhad, Iran) and nanometric SiC (nSiC, ~50 nm, Alfa Aesar, Mass, USA) powders were batches with various weight ratios of Si/C in the range of 1–4 and (Si + C)/SiC between and 19 were prepared.
